Dominique Lorrain is a researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).

In this interview, he speaks about the key issues of wastewater services. He highlight the paradox: these services are obviously crucial but there is a severe lack of public awareness about the issue.

This raises the question: how ensuring that the services are visible and have a positive image? He thinks that reintroducing water into the city can be a solution, for major cities.

Lastly, to resolve problems in water and wastewater, especially in emerging countries, we must break with the current sectoral way of thinking: a better urban planning is a key aspect of progress.
