International Day for Biodiversity held on May 22 is the opportunity to enhance public awareness about biodiversity and answer questions on related issues. Allain Bougrain-Dubourg provides us with a situation report on biodiversity and shares his life-long fascination for wildlife and flora. Moreover, 2010 is also International Biodiversity year.
Allain Bougrain-Dubourg has been fascinated by nature from his childhood, and since 1986 has been the President of the French branch of the League for Bird Protection. Allain is also the producer of the "Heroes of Biodiversity" series of short TV programmes backed by SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT in partnership with the Oceanopolis marine life centre in Brest and sponsored by the French Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development.
