Gerard H. van Egerschot (Amsterdam, 1947) studied Macro Economics at Amsterdam University. After his graduation he joined the Dutch Institute of Transportion as programme leader on the development of a second Dutch national airport. In that time he was also engaged as a Lecturer for Port developments and services at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Later on in his career he joined the Port of Delfzijl as a marketing manager for the industrial and seaport development of the Northern part of Netherlands.
From 1984-1989 he was appointed as Mayor of Bennebroek ( a town well known for its tulip bulbs), whereas he was also responsible for expanding local economical developments. He then joined TNT POST (postal and logistic services) as Director of Marketing, followed by the positions of CEO of VAM (waste management) respectively SENS (Dutch State Lottery).
Since 2004, he has been a independent trusted boardroom advisor for example for companies such as SITA (waste management), InterAccess (computer software), Cap Gemini (management and ict consulting) and Rebelgroup (public private partnership consultant). Besides all this he is also currently Chairman of the Netherlands Association of Producers of Materials for Construction, NVTB.
Since 2004 Van Egerschot has been a Lecturer on Public Private Structures and Cooperations for TIAS University Tilburg.

Gerard Van Egerschot is President of the Dutch association of producers of materials for construction.
He is also involved in a strategic programme on water and water movements, called "In Our Water" which aims to creating water savings and efficiency cultures in the Netherlands.
For him, to promote circular economy and a sustainable approach of water management, stakeholders have to find together solutions which will lead to an effective working between public and private partners.
