Facebook has had data centres built in the United States and abroad to host all of its users’ data. The company has now revealed the energy efficiency of two of its sites, Prineville and Forest City, thanks to a chart which allows their energy consumption to be monitored in real time.

This year, the schedule for World Water Day was particularly packed. Essentially, drinking water and issues surrounding it will constitute the focus of three main events: the international conference on water cooperation in Tajikistan in August, the World Water Week in Stockholm in September and the Water Summit in Hungary in October.

In order to educate the public about unequal access to water, Serge Belo, a Canadian artist, has created a mural with more than 66,000 glasses filled with rainwater, with various shades of color highlighting the various levels of impurities that are found around the world.

Since its creation in 1992 by the UNCED (United Nations Conference on Environment and Development), celebration of World Water Day has enabled the review of actions undertaken by the international community to meet the challenges of water, considered by many as one of the key issues of the 21st century.
