- International governance of sustainable development
There are two ways for a group such as SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, part of the GDF SUEZ group, to approach an event as symbolic and as complex as the Rio + 20 Conference: either as a contributor who brings and seeks to share its good practices by showcasing its achievements and innovations, or as a player responding to the international community’s invitation and agreeing to take part in the discussion based on a long-term vision of its business and its impact on global challenges. Read moreThe upcoming Rio+20 Earth Summit to be held June 20-22 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will focus on several fundamental problems, including that pertaining to water. Right now, 884 million people around the world still do not have access to drinking water and 2.6 billion have no access to basic sanitation services. Access to water and sanitation for all is thus one of the core issues of the Rio+20 Conference, which will set new courses for the future in regard to sustainable development.
